With 10 GS/s digitizing rate simultaneously on all four channels and a high-stability timebase, the TDS694C makes your critical timing measurements with the highest resolution and accuracy – even channel-to-channel measurements made in a single acquisition. The TDS600C oscilloscopes incorporate all the advanced trigger features you expect in a high performance oscilloscope: triggering on Glitches, Slew Rate violations, Setup-and- hold Time violations, Timeouts, Logic Patterns and States on four channels. For applications where sophisticated multi-channel debugging is required, the TDS694C can be configured for cross triggering with a Tektronix TLA700 Logic Analyzer. The TDS600C oscilloscopes give you the total solution to your digital design characterization and debugging needs. Now you have the tool you need to verify design margins, characterize setup-and-hold times and measure clock- to-data skew on the fastest digital designs. The TDS694C’s companion Probe, the P6249, offers small size to reliably contact your high- density boards with their fine-pitch, hard to reach components. The P6249 has short ground connection to give the maximum system bandwidth and preserve the details of your signals. The TDS600C offers 29 automatic measurements, with measurement statistics, to make your design verification and characterization job much faster and easier. Available Java- based application packages for jitter analysis, disk drive measurements and processor specification measurements provide customized measurements and analysis capability. The TDS600C gives you the performance and features you need to get your job done faster and more thoroughly.

This manual is divided into sections, such as Specifications and Theory of Operation. Further, it is divided into subsections, such as Product Description and Removal and Installation Procedures. Sections containing procedures also contain introductions to those procedures. Be sure to read these introductions because they provide information needed to do the service correctly and efficiently. The following is a brief description of each manual section. H Specifications contains a product description of the TDS 500D, TDS 600C TDS 700D and TDS 714L Oscilloscopes and tables of the characteristics and descriptions that apply to it. H Operating Information includes general information and operating instruc- tions at the level needed to safely power on and service this Oscilloscope. A statement of the service strategy that this manual supports, and instructions for shipment of the oscilloscopes are found in this section. H Theory of Operation contains circuit descriptions that support general service and fault isolation. H Performance Verification contains a collection of procedures for confirming that these oscilloscopes function properly and meet warranted limits. H Adjustment Procedures contains a collection of procedures for adjusting these oscilloscopes to meet warranted limits. Maintenance contains information and procedures for doing preventive and corrective maintenance of these oscilloscopes. Instructions for cleaning, for module removal and installation, and for fault isolation to a module are found here. Options contains information on servicing any of the factory-installed options that may be present in your Oscilloscope. Electrical Parts List contains a statement referring you to Mechanical Replaceable Parts, where both electrical and mechanical modules are listed. Diagrams contains a block diagram and an interconnection diagram useful for isolating failed modules. Mechanical Parts List includes a table of all replaceable modules, their descriptions, and their Tektronix part numbers.

This is the User Manual for the TDS 694C Oscilloscopes The chapter Getting Started briefly describes the TDS 694C Oscilloscopes, prepares you to install it, and tells you how to put it into service. The chapter Operating Basics covers basic principles of the operation of the oscilloscope. The operating Interface illustrations and the tutorial examples rapidly help you understand how your Oscilloscope operates. The chapter Reference teaches you how to perform specific tasks. See page 3–1 for a complete list of operating tasks covered in that chapter. The Appendices provide an options listing, an Accessories listing, and other useful information.
