The Type 1556-B Impact-Noise Analyzer (Figure l)is an Amplifier voltmeter system designed to measure peak value,
maximum instantaneous level, and time duration of impact
sound or vibration. By means of an electrical storage system
in the instrument, all three characteristics of a single
impact can be measured with only one indicating meter. The
Impact- Noise Analyzer is usually used to measure the output
of a Type 1551 Sound Level Meter a Type
1550-A Octave-Band Noise Analyzer a Type 1553-A or 761-A
Vibration Meter, or a magnetic Tape recorder
